People and Places that are important to us!

Our Kids:

All three of our kids are out of college and on their own.  No parent could ask for three kids better than these three are.  They are an absolute blessing to all of us.  Additionally, all three of them are accomplished grillers and BBQers. :-)

Our son and youngest of the three, Peter, graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois and is teaching and coaching at the Brenham Christian Academy in Brenham, Texas.  He loves baseball, football, hunting, and fishing.

Our middle daughter, Mary, graduated from Rice University and is living in Berlin, Germany.  She's completely bilingual and is working as a tutor and a translator.  Berlin is an amazing city - a cross between old and new.

Our oldest daughter, Kirsten, graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California and then from The Loma Linda School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California (Funny thing, we went to visit here a lot more often in Santa Barbara than we did in Loma Linda :-)).  She did her residency at the Montana Family Medicine Residency in Billings, Montana.  She decided to return to her home town of Hardin Montana to join a small practice there.  She's enjoying being a Family Practice doctor, especially being able to bring new lives into the world.  She's also part of Harvest Church in Billings.  When you walk into a church building and realize there are three story climbing walls in the lobby, the average age of the people around you is about 25, and the "sanctuary" is a gymnasium, you know that this is "church" done differently (and really well, for that matter).

Our Church Family:

We're part of East Bay Fellowship in Danville, California where Diane plays keys on the worship team..  Join us either Saturday night or Sunday morning for a great time of worship and a great teaching or click on this link to download a sermon:     http://www.eastbayfellowship.org/downloads.html

Our Jobs:

We both work for Kaiser Permanente, but in different parts.  Diane works in Medicare Finance for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Del works in Financial Services for The Permanente Medical Group.

Our Passions:

We both are actively involved in the East Bay Fellowship Financial Ministry.  This work includes providing Biblically based financial education in small group settings (there are over 2300 verses in the Bible related to money and possession; He knew where our struggle would be!). We cover budgeting, getting out of debt, saving and investing, giving, learning to be content, teaching children to handle money and many other topics.  Additionally, there is an active benevolence program for those in need.  All of the educational materials we use are from Crown Financial Ministries founded by Howard Dayton and the late Larry Burkett.  Great material and a great ministry

Del is also an active woodworker and woodturner.  He's a member of both the American Association of Woodturners and the Bay Area Woodturners Assocation.

Diane loves to decorate, especially with garage sale bargains.  Check out some of the results.

More of Our Family

Diane's brothers are both active webmeisters and are who inspired us to do this website.

Ron Bloomquist lives in Fort Bragg, CA and has a wonderful site documenting his travels and adventures (he's a much better writer than I to say the least).  Definitely worth checking out.

Also check out his blog "Walking Fort Bragg".  It's fun and fascinating with great pictures.

Ken Bloomquist lives in Coupeville, WA on Whidbey Island and publishes an online newsletter that is both entertaining and informative.  Definitely worth checking out and subscribing.
